I have
found few things I am truly passionate about. Literature, Writing, and Music
make up most of my life; these are the things that have been around since
before I could walk and to this day they have made quite an impact on me.
Writing
is one of those things that can take me as far as I want to be. I can go
anywhere as long as I have a pen and paper, and it has to be a pen because I
despise pencil. I dislike how easily pencil can be taken off the page. A pen is
permanent which means it’s there forever. Even if I crumple that paper up and
throw it away the words I wrote will still be there. It makes it real, makes me
feel like everything I put down isn't for nothing.
When
my sister was 14, she asked me what drove me to be the best person I could be.
I wasn't sure how to answer these questions because until just recently I
wasn't sure what drove me either. Be a better person. Changing the world
through the things I do, making people’s lives just a little bit better. These
are the things that drive me to be the best I can. Someone out there has it a
lot worse than I; hell, people can look at me and say I’m pampered. I have a
loving home, family, and just about anything I can ask for. My goal is to make
life better for those who can’t, or don’t, have what I have. To change the
heart of every person I come in contact with some way or another. A rather
ridiculous goal, right? I don’t think so. I actually think it’s what pushes me
to be the best I can be. Through writing, the one talent I can declare I have
proudly, I know I can touch the lives of people around me.
When I
combine my two passions, writing and music, I can create some of the best work.
Even know I have Bach playing lightly in the background as I try to type out
some of the thoughts in my head. It's calming and makes me think straight. I
don't even have to make sense to others to feel good; I just have to be able to
get coherent words on the paper.
I
suppose I’ll cut my rant a little short. Point of the lesson today? Passions
drive you to be the best person you can be. So go out and find yours.
